Judd Kemp - Class Of 1968

10/26/1950 ~ 10/18/2012

Judd E. Kemp lost his lengthy battle with cancer on the morning of Thursday, October 18, 2012. His passing, like his struggle with the disease, was met with strength and dignity. Judd was born in Salt Lake City on September 26, 1950 to Melvin W. Kemp, Jr. and Virginia June (Johnson) Kemp. He graduated from Clearfield (Utah) High School in 1968 and then served an L.D.S. mission in Alaska and western Canada. After returning from his mission, Judd graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Business Administration and went on to receive an M.B.A. from the University of Utah. Judd was married to Judy Southwick of Lehi, Utah in the Salt Lake Temple in December 1976. Judy continued to be the most important thing in his life from the day of their wedding until Judd's last day on earth. Judd and Judy have three boys: Jaden (wife Brooke), Janson, (wife Meagan) and Jordan (wife Amy). Judd had a successful business career after completing his education, having founded and managed for many years Geodyne Transport, a Salt Lake City based transportation company. Judd's dedication to his business was matched only by his passion for golf, his favorite leisure-time activity. Judd's passing has left this world a little less complete for his family and all of those who had the opportunity to know him.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, seven grandchildren, and two brothers.
