Henry Orlando Vigil - Class Of 1964

Cpl. Henry Vigil, a 20-year-old Marine from Clinton, Utah was killed in action in South Viet Nam.

   A son of Mr. and Mrs. Elfido Vigil was fatally wounded Aug. 15, 1967 while on patrol north of DaNang, Viet Nam. The young Marine was assigned to Co. I, 3rd Platoon, 3rd Battalion of the 1st Marines.

   His unit was on patrol operations in the Marble Mountains area about 15 miles north of DaNang. The corporal, who joined the Marine Corps, had been in Viet Name 10 months.

   He was born Aug. 24, 1946 in Emudo, N.M. He died seven days short of his 21st birthday. A graduate of Clearfield High in 1964, he worked as a beautician at Painters Beauty Shop prior to entering the service.
