Dennis Lee Mayer Moran - Class Of 1964

Dennis Lee Mayer Moran, 55, passed away suddenly Sept. 6, 2002 of a heart attack. He was born Oct. 8, 1946 in Paul, Idaho to Mary Heinze and Theodor Mayer.

   He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Viet Nam veteran. He married the love of his life, Marylou Herrera on Feb. 17, 1968 in Las Vegas, NV. They had two sons.

   Dennis received his Bachelor of Science degrees from Weber State. He worked at Hill AFB as a program management specialist in the DMAG Home Office. During his career he received numerous awards and commendations. He was a counselor and teacher at the Clearfield Job Corp Center. He also worked at the Division of Youth Corrections (MOWEDA). Dennis loved working with young people and was instrumental in inspiring them to achieve their goals and reach their greatest potential.

   He also served as a Catechism Principal, Teacher and Special Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary Catholic Church.\

   Dennis was an avid golfer and was a member of the Hill AFB West Area Golf League. His family was his greatest joy. He and Marylou hosted many wonderful and unforgettable family gatherings. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Bugs” to his nieces and nephewsb. Interment Ogden City Cemetery.
