Robert Parent - Class Of 1964

   Robert “Bob” “Bobcat” Parent, 57, died Jan. 21,2003 at his home in Ogden. He was born Jan. 4, 1946 in Ogden, a son of Joseph and Mae White Parent.

   He was reared and educated in Ogden where he lived for most of his life. He attended Clearfield High School in 1962.

   Bob served with the US Army at Fort Greenley, Alaska from 1963 to 1966. He attended Utah Tech College in 1971 and then attended Weber State College in 1974.

   After knowing each other for 40 years, Bob married Jackie McCamish on May 30, 1993 in Elko, Nevada.

   He enjoyed working at Hill AFB, working there for 20 years as a machinist. He helped implement many ideas and received several awards.

   Bob enjoyed traveling and spending time with his wife, as well as hunting, fishing, working on cars and computers, and listening to music. He loved a good deal and was the epitome of a “Pack Rat”. Bob believed one man’s junk was another man’s treasure. He was a jack of all trades and always willing to lend a hand.

   Surviving are his wife, Jackie of Ogden; one son and one daughter, Dustin John (Heather) Parent, and Mary Elizabeth “Liza” Parent (Travis) Nielsen, both of Ogden, one step-son, David John Smith, Ogden; eight granddaughters, and a niece and nephew, Melanie and Jordon, who Bob was raising.

   Bob is also survived by his mother, Mae of Sunset; three brothers and one sister, Joseph (Karen) Parent III, Hillsboro, OR; William “Bill” (Robin) Parent, Riverdale; Charles (Charlie) Parent, Roy; Gerrie (Paul) Velasquez, Syracuse.

   Preceding him in death were his father, Joe, and sister, Marie Parent Montoya.

   We will miss all the good times and cherish all of our memories.

   Memorial services Jan. 28 at the Ivy Lane Reception Center. Military honors will be accorded. Cremation under the direction of Lindquist’s Crematory
