Susan Ottley (Palmer) - Class Of 1964

Susan Ottley Palmer, 72, of Brunswick, Georgia passed away Friday, November 23, 2018. A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, she had been a resident of Glynn County for the past 38 years. Mrs. Palmer was born April 12, 1946 to the late Frederick Edward Ottley and the late Inez Loriane Bennett Ottley. She was a graduate of Clearfield High School in Clearfield, Utah and she attended Weber State in Ogden Utah. Mrs. Palmer was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings in the Church. These included being a teacher numerous organizations in the Church. She also served as both Ward and Stake President of the Young Women, President of the Relief Society, and as Ward Primary President. She Served missions for the church in the Orlando Temple, Freiberg Germany Temple and in Switzerland. She was also the Co-Founder of Mothers Against Drunk Driving MADD, Glynn County Chapter . Mrs. Palmer enjoyed needle work, sewing and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 52 years James Duffy Palmer and children Junebeth, Jasan Duffy (Laura) Palmer, Andräa (Matthew) Cobb, Whitney Dean (Amarilis) Palmer, Arthur David (Diana) Palmer, 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Siblings Dean Udy Ottley, DeLoy Udy Ottley, Vivian Crosby, David Bennett Ottley, and Robert Bennett Ottley. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by her daughter Margaret Inez Palmer; Siblings, Harold Udy Ottley, Leo Udy Ottley, Hugh Udy Ottley, Gwen Beyler, Maxine Layton; and grandson Ivan Duffy Cobb. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 500 McIntosh Road, Darien, Georgia 31305, with Branch President Randy Glenn officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery in Brunswick, Georgia. Serving as active pallbearers will be Mrs. Palmer’s grandchildren.
