Michele "Mickey" Jensen (Orr) - Class Of 1969

Michele Jensen Orr  July 24th 1951- March 9th 2019

On the evening of March 9th, Michele Jensen Orr “Mickey”, passed away at her home in Farr West surrounded by her loving family. Mickey was born in Ogden, UT on July 24th, 1951 to Gordon and Joyce Jensen. She grew up in Clearfield, graduating from Clearfield High School in 1969. Mickey wasted no time getting her Bachelor of Arts degree from Weber State College in 1973. She also married Lawrence Campbell in 1973 with whom she had a son, Nathan Lawrence Campbell, in 1979.

On July 31st, 1993 Mickey married Bruce “Kim” Orr, acquiring two stepsons, Lance and Sean Orr. In 1994 the 5 of them moved to Farr West, UT. Mickey was a devoted teacher and
had a distinguished career spanning 37 years with Ogden City School District. Most of her career was spent teaching at Central and Mount Ogden Middle Schools. You couldn’t go
anywhere in Ogden without former students coming up to Mickey or “Mrs. Orr” for a hug.

Mickey enjoyed being a part of her community, proudly serving on the Farr West City Council, The Farr West Youth Council, The Weber Fire District Board, and participating in the
Weber County Sheriff’s Office Citizen Academy with her husband Kim.

Mickey had many hobbies and enjoyed showing dogs for a while with her son Nathan. She was the Vice President for the Wasatch Rottweiler Association for a number of years and
was also a member of the Mount Ogden Kennel Club. Mickey practiced Hapkido, achieving the rank of 2nd degree black belt. More recently, Mickey enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR
races with her best friend and husband Kim. Together, they would go to the Las Vegas track every single year, for the last 17 years, to watch the race.

Mickey is survived by her husband Bruce Kim Orr, her son Nathan (Renee) Campbell, stepsons Lance (Lindee) Orr and Sean (Yolanda) Orr, sisters Judy (Allan) Berrett, Darla (Kelly)
Cunningham, sister in law Pati (Vern) Campbell, and 9 grandchildren: Charly Campbell, Piper Campbell, Winnie Campbell, Ephraim Campbell, Delia Campbell (Nathan & Renee), Ryannon
Orr and Sonja Orr (Sean and Yolanda) Logan Orr, Liam Orr (Lance and Lindee) and mother and father in-law Bruce and LaVonne Orr and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur Gordon Jensen and Helen Joyce Jensen and her brother Scott Arthur Jensen.

Kim would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, family, and friends who helped take care of Mickey in her final weeks. 

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., where a viewing will be held on Thursday, March 14th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Interment, Washington Heights Memorial Park.
