Automobile Accident

Joel D. Anderson
(May 10, 1951-July 24, 1969)

The accident occurred in Gallatin County, Montana, about eight miles North of West Yellowstone on Montana State Hwy 191.   Late at night Joel was traveling North on Hwy 191.  There is a curve located just North of where Madison Lane intersects the highway and as he negotiated the curve his Nova SS drifted to the right hand shoulder of the road.  When the tires started to lose traction Joel tried to pull out of the skid and subsequently over corrected. The car veered across the opposite lane and hit the dirt embankment. Joel was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The female riding with him suffered minor back injuries.
