Michael Wayne Waggoner, 67, passed away at his home in Syracuse on Friday, June 20, 2014.

Mike was born January 15, 1947, in Henderson, Nevada, to Marjorie May and Leroy Ira Waggoner.  Mike was the third of four children.  He graduated from Clearfield High School (’65), served an LDS mission to the Dusseldorf Germany Mission, and received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Weber State University (’73).

On August 24, 1972, Mike married Sandra Baker and they raised four children together, Michael Jr., Kyle, Matt, and Katie Waggoner Storbo (Shawn).  His children were his greatest joy and he loved to take them on many trips and adventures.

Mike also had great passion for the outdoors, where he enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, and rappelling.  He was always happiest when he was camping in the great outdoors.  He also loved to golf in his spare-time, or whenever business needed to be discussed.

Mike worked for the Mt. Bell Telephone Company, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies.  He was also very civically active and loved participating in the Scouting program, where he served in his local units, district, and at the council level.

Mike was an amazing member-missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He loved teaching others about the Savior and the restoration.  He served in many church callings and was dedicated to doing the best job he could, no matter the calling.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his four children, former wife, Sandi, three siblings, Larry (Sharon) Waggoner, Thomas (Joan) Waggoner, and Waunalee (Randy) Hensley, three grand puppies, several nieces and nephews and many neighborhood children that called him Grandpa Mike.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville Crestwood Chapel, 1039 E. Crestwood Road.  Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. 

Mike will be laid to rest in the Kaysville City Cemetery.
