Steven D. Smith - Class Of 1968

Salina, Utah - I've gone fishing, way too soon! Steve died on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at his home in Salina, after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born June 20, 1950 in Denver, Colorado, a son of Dwight Merle and Jackie Jane Waller Smith. Steve graduated from Clearfield High School in 1968.

He worked in sporting goods for years. He retired after 19 years with Questar in Commercial Sales. Steve enjoyed his job and the numerous friends he made at Questar. He later enjoyed selling fishing supplies for Action Strike.

Steve married the love of his life, Lorraine Robinson on July 7, 2001 at her parents Accord Lake cabin. Together they enjoyed traveling with family and friends all over the world.

Steve was active with Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, SFW, Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development.

He was an avid and skilled fisherman and hunter. His talent in woodworking was exceptional. Many people enjoy his gifts of woodcarvings, candle holders, tables, benches, chairs and bedroom sets. He loved the great outdoors, enjoying ATV rides, being a trophy guide and fishing competitions. He never missed an outdoor or fishing expo.

Steve loved life and he loved friends. His phone was constantly busy with calls and text messages. He enjoyed the Salina 9:00 A.M. coffee group where they could razz each other and tell stories. He loved "Whoopin-It-On-Ya"!!!
