SYRACUSE- At the young age of 54, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Betty Corgiat, passed away into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father. She died of complications from Leukemia on August 24, 2001 at the Saint Mark's hospital in Salt Lake City.

Betty was born April 3, 1947 in Ogden, Utah to Clifford and Rosetta Thorpe Fisher of West Point. She married her high school sweetheart and eternal mate, Michael Charles Corgiat, on March 10, 1966 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with three beautiful children.

The first priorities in Betty's life were always her church and dear family. She dearly loved God, her extended family, all the brothers and sisters in her ward and Syracuse community. She had worked at Hill Air Force Base for 22 years and loved the many caring people she worked with over those years.

As a devout member of the Syracuse South Bluff Ward, she felt blessed to be able to play the piano and organ for her church for many years. In addition to being an accomplished pianist, Betty enjoyed sewing, handicrafts, the Pioneer Memorial Theater, and her many friends and activities with the Corvette Club.

Surviving are her husband, children, Michelle (Shane) Evans, Roy; Chad (Sharla) Corgiat, Roy; Melanie (Mark) Blevins, Valdosta, GA; a brother, Clifford Farrell (Louiene) Fisher, Rockville, Maryland; a sister, Ramona (John) Allison, Ogden; plus four adoring grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lois Fisher.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse South LDS Stake Center, 3065 So. Bluff Road, Bishop Norman Bennett, Officiating. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Wednesday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, West Point City Cemetery. E-mail condolences to the family at llm@lindquistmortuary.com.
