Jack Arnold Hannum

Together Forever

Lynn Crittenden Hannum, 68, of West Haven, UT, passed away September 15, 2014 in West Haven surrounded by her loved ones, after a five year battle with cancer. Lynn was born December 9, 1945 in Ogden, Utah to Paul Nicholas Crittenden and Paula Paulsen Crittenden.

Jack Arnold Hannum, 70, of West Haven, passed away September 16, 2014 in Ogden, surrounded by his loved ones after suffering from a ruptured gallbladder on July 3, 2014. Jack was born October 25, 1943 in Ogden, Utah to Arnold Olin Hannum and Olga Johnson Hannum. He married the love of his life Lynn Crittenden on May 27, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity.

Jack and Lynn both graduated from Morgan High School then continued their education at Utah State University. Jack attended USU on a full ride football scholarship, where he was a co-captain and earning the respect of his teammates and coaches for his extreme hard work, mental toughness, and leadership skills while he was studying secondary education. Lynn was Jacks number one fan while she studied elementary education. At that time Jacks main focus was football but his senior year with football complete he was able to college rodeo winning the College National Championship in the Calf Roping. After graduating from Utah State University, Jack and Lynn moved to Roosevelt where Jack taught math and coached football at Union High School leading them to their first-ever state championship. He continued his success at Clearfield High School just three years later leading them to their first football state championship. Jack also had a strong passion for rodeo and after having an unbelievable year going to only 36 rodeos and placing at 29, and qualifying for the National Finals Rodeo he was able to leave the classroom to pursue his dream of rodeoing full time, primarily because of Lynns love and support and her willingness to work part-time, raise their children and take care of everything at home while Jack earned a living for their family. Jack had the opportunity to work for the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) for 25 years in several positions: Rodeo Administration, Circuit Coordinator, and Supervisor of Pro Officials. It was said that Jack raised the bar. He had everybodys respect. He was always fair, always dedicated to making things better.

Lynn taught elementary for more than 30 years, teaching primarily in Weber School District and affecting the lives of so many children that she dearly loved. Lynn was always looking for ways to serve. Whether it was taking neighbors dinner, running the chutes, driving kids to ball games, or serving in her church callings, she was always looking for a way to help and serve others. Lynn was an avid doll collector and enjoyed spending time with her doll club members and enjoyed reading. She was a fantastic cook and her friends and family are truly going to miss her delicious Christmas candy. Jack and Lynn were both exceptional teachers in the classroom but most especially in life.

This beautiful couple was together most of their lives and expressed their love for each other in so many different ways. But the greatest expression of all was their desire to return to their home in Heaven, together.

Jack and Lynn raised five children in West Haven, Utah. They were active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where they served faithfully in many capacities throughout their lives.

The family would like to thank the many amazing health care providers that helped both Jack and Lynn. Lynn had a few extra special people thank: Dr. Hansen and his staff; Jared Nielson at McKay Dee Hospital, for going above and beyond; and Sandra Dahl a lifetime friend for always being there.

Jack and Lynn are survived by their five children and Lynns mother: Paula Crittenden (Morgan) children: Jane (Jason) Eiguren, Fruitland, ID; Amee (Brian) Roundy, Richfield, UT; Emily (Kyle) Morgan, Fruit Heights, UT; Olin (Natalie) Hannum, Malad, ID; Jake (Ashlee) Hannum, Plain City, UT. They had 14 grandchildren and one more on the way, and one great-grandchild.
