Melinda Montgomery - Class Of 1979

Melinda Montgomery beloved daughter, sister and aunt passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 9, 2015.

She was born in Ogden, Utah to Robert H. and DeeAnna Elm on February 9, 1961. She moved to West Point when she was four years old and graduated from Clearfield High in 1979.

She worked at various hotels and care centers with a few years at Autoliv making many friends with her outgoing personality.

Melinda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in Young Womens, Library, and the nursery. She loved young children, spending many hours in her younger years tending for families in the ward.

Melinda loved to crochet afghans, hot pads, baby bibs, and doing counted cross stitch which she shared with her friends. She loved country music and attending concerts, especially her friends in the group BlackHawk. She enjoyed annual family vacations in particular those to Yellowstone. She also enjoyed going to the movies with her sister. Melinda was a TV addict watching cooking shows and reality TV. She had a TV remote in her hand right to the end. Melinda managed to live a happy life even with her many health problems.

Melinda was welcomed home by her dad, sister Cheri Lee Smith, uncle David Elm, grandparents Ernest and Viola (Wood) Elm, and Harland and Alta (Briggs) Montgomery.

She is survived by her mother, sister Brooke, brothers Robert (Courtney) and Mark (Mary), and her nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Thanks to Dr. Senekjian, Doctors and nurses at McKay-Dee, and the nurses and aids at South Davis Community Hospital LTAC unit for the loving care they took of Mindy.

We love and will miss you Min!

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the West Point Cemetery, 490 North 4000 West. The family will meet with friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the West Point 16th Ward, 4383 West 300 North.
