Mark Phillip "Panda De Bear" De Witt - Class Of 1990

Mark Phillip De Witt  “Panda De Bear”

Left this earth, surrounded by loving family and friends, to return to his Father in Heaven on November 7, 2016 at the age of 34.

Born August 13, 1982 to William Frank (Bill) and Diana (Burgess) De Witt in Ogden, Utah. The youngest of four children, he grew up and lived the majority of his adult life in the De Witt Family Home, in Clearfield, Utah.

As a child Mark had many interests, including Tae Kwon Do, playing soccer and football. He tried his hand at various musical instruments and made memories camping and going on family vacations.

From an early age he built, pushed, drove and rode anything with wheels, leading him on countless adventures, which he shared with family and friends. He loved to cook and was often in the kitchen or outside grilling.

With an abundance of knowledge and creative talents, Panda shared his quick wit and humor at every opportunity. He was a great story teller and enjoyed Marvel comics and the cinema immensely.

Panda had a unique fashion style, and he rocked it! A loyal San Francisco 49ers fan his entire life it was rare to see him without something on to represent his team.

A recreational shooting enthusiast, he considered himself an amateur gunsmith. His favorite gun was a model 1911 pistol.

Outgoing and a true people person, Mark never met anyone who wasn’t his friend. Always the first to offer help or to stand up for and protect others, he maintained a child-like gentleness and honesty and gave the best hugs. With his enormous and genuine heart, he loved others unconditionally.

Panda De Bear had a vibrant smile that lit up the room and a boisterous infectious laugh that could be heard anywhere. These are the things which will undoubtedly resonate in the hearts and minds of all who knew him for the rest of their days.

Mark “Panda De Bear” was preceded in death by his best friend and mother, Diana Burgess DeWitt, grandmothers Lois Burgess, Grace De Witt, Elma De Witt, his grandfather Paul De Witt and other family members who we know were there to welcome him home with loving, open arms.

He is survived by his father, William (Bill) De Witt, brother, Matthew (Julianne) De Witt, and sisters Alice (Justin Elam) De Witt and Elizabeth (Liz) Baker, 13 nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
