Dennis K. Ferrin - Class Of 1967

Dennis K. Ferrin, a resident of Beaverton, Oregon, unexpectedly passed away Friday November 27, 2015 from an apparent heart attack.
Dennis Ferrin was born to goodly parents John C. Ferrin and Ione Ferrin (Gledhill) on April 29, 1949 in Ogden, Utah. Dennis was a younger brother to Allen. Dennis and Allen were raised in Sunset, Utah with their parents. Dennis was active in his church and in boy scouts. In 1967 Dennis graduated from Clearfield High School in Clearfield, Utah. In 1968-71, Dennis honorably served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sydney, Australia. After his return he lived with his family up until June 1974, when he and Cathy E. Lynn, married in the LDS Ogden Temple to be sealed for all time and eternity together. A few years later they were blessed with their first child and less then 2 years later their second child. At around the year 1978 Dennis, his wife and 2 kids, relocated to Eugene, Oregon and some months later moved to Beaverton, Oregon. In 1979 they welcomed their 3rd and last child into the world.
Dennis worked at Tektronix for several years as a courier. In 1989 the LDS Portland, Oregon Temple was dedicated. At sometime after dedication Dennis got the opportunity to volunteer, then was able to work part-time in the temple kitchen washing dishes. While working part-time at the temple, Dennis worked at different mail courier jobs in the Portland metro area. Those jobs had their season in his life and it was time for him move on. The oppurtunity arose to where he could go from part-time dishwasher at the Temple to working full-time, which he gladly accepted. Dennis worked there until retirement several years ago. After retirement he worked part-time at a Lake Oswego Hotel washing dishes.
Around 2007 or so Dennis joined Wallmaster (Toastmaster) group in Tigard, Oregon.
Upon Dennis’s death he leaves behind an ex-wife, 2 sons, a daughter, son-in-law, 2 grandsons and his brother.
