Steven Ray Walker - Class Of 1967

Steven Ray Walker, 68, passed away on October 21, 2017, of emphysema complications. Steven was born on April 29, 1949, to Eldon R. and AnnaLou Cook Walker in Logan, Utah. He graduated from Clearfield High School in 1967. Steven married Laurie Jo Oviatt on September 22, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Steven worked at Kimberly Clark Corporation retiring after 20 years of service, he made many friends and loved those he worked with. After retiring he worked for CalRanch in Farr West, said it was the first job he ever loved going to every day. He was in partnership with his brother-in-law and best friend, Robert Holmes, in Santerra Construction and Dry Wall for many years. He also worked at Hobart in Clearfield, Utah. He loved fishing and spent many happy times with family on hunting trips on horseback. He loved baseball and was an avid Yankees fan.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie of Riverdale; sisters, Paula Tams-Jones of Roy; and Sandy (Robert-deceased) Holmes of Roy; brother, Ned (Debra) Walker of Ogden; his children: Marnee Hamblin of Portland, OR; Sean Walker of Ogden; and Amber (Jeremy) DeWitt of Ogden; stepson, Riley Hughes of Ogden; 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers-in-law, Robert Holmes and Michael Tams.

Services have been entrusted to Leavitt's Mortuary.

A viewing will be at Leavitt's Mortuary Chapel, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. with graveside services starting at 3:00 p.m., located at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
