In Memory

Donald Ray Rhoades - Class Of 1968

Donald Ray Rhoades was born June 18, 1949.  Ray passed away February 17, 2018 surrounded by his family.  Ray married Sherrie Lynn Mills Rhoades on March 11, 1967.  They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Ray was an amazing father to Shane (Pom) Rhoades, Clinton, UT; Lesli (Ken) Dana, Thayne, WY; Dustin Rhoades, Pocatello, ID; Clay (Sabrina) Rhoades, Casper, WY; Krystal (Bill) Furness, Tremonton, UT; and Raelyn (Brian) Musgrave, Enoch, UT.  He also loved his 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Ray was born in Heber City, Utah to Donald and Doris Rhoades.  His brothers and sisters are Edward (Kathy) Rhoades, Karla (Jack) Fleck, Jan (Garrett) Ostler and Joyce (Larry) Mower.

Ray loved to fish and hunt with his wife and all of his children.  They spent countless hours in the mountain and at the lake.  He loved to trap and spent countless hours trapping in the swamps.  He loved to pull jokes on those he loved.  He was a laugh a minute.  Ray was the best concrete finisher out there.  He taught all three of his sons how to be as good if not better when it come to pouring and finishing concrete.  Ray loved his football and loved to coach.  He also loved to watch all of his grandsons wrestle.  He loved to take his metal detectors out and spend the day looking for anything he could find.  If he found a nickel, it was a successful day.  Ray had a green thumb like nobody else, he had a garden that was unbelievably big and had everything you could imagine in it.  He was always weeding, watering and talking to his tomato plants.  His neighbors and family could not wait to raid it.  He loved being able to help his community as he volunteered as an EMT in Little Field, AZ.  His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were by far the light of his life.  He will be so missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sherrie Rhoades, grandson, Kolton Herring and great-grandson Bubba Cruys.
