You don't remember me,
I don't remember you...(well, maybe I do)
But trust me, we were there together.
It really did happen.
It really was true.

The music was outrageous.
It was beautiful and it was new.
We found our souls at Motown.
Our summers spent on the beach.
We dreamed of hot rods,
and drove what we could.
The British invaded once again.
This time we threw up ours arms and said,
"come on in."
Today, it's the soundtrack of our lives.

It wasn't all good though.
In the spring of '68 we lost Dr. King.
I thought the country would come apart.
We had come so far and it looked like it was all for not.
Thank God, cooler minds prevailed.

Then there was "that war".
It seemed like we were doing the right thing.
Millions served.
Some by choice...Others by hook and by crook.
Thousands never made it.
Some lost their lives.
Many lost their minds.
We all lost something...be it big or small.

Now here we are,
40 years gone by.
We lost a few along the way.
I miss them...we miss them. And life goes on.

So now we'll come together again.
That makes me glad.
Maybe this time for the long run.
Maybe yet another 40?

Man...that would be so cool...

Here's to you Larry Garner...wish you were still with us.

I always liked the Falcon mascot, and I thought all the people were cool.
