Jeffery "Craig" Hale

Martha and I met at USU, introduced by a mutual friend, Christina Kennington, from Bolivia. Turns out Christina was tutoring Martha in Spanish and introduced us one day at the office. Craig was smitten at first sight and the rest is history. Craig happened to be working with in a sheep production program being run out of USU for the Peace Corps.

I married Martha Farrer of Logan, Utah, seven years out of high school in 1971. I had returned to USU to complete my college education, graduating in 1970. Martha remained at USU to complete her education, while Craig attended Stanford University from 1970-1971 pursuing a degree in Latin American Studies. The year following their marriage, the couple journeyed to Boston, Massachusetts, to complete a one-year MA program in international relations and diplomacy at Tufts University.
