Mr Stevenson was a great principal. I well remember when he opened his home to the football team and grilled us some great steaks. He wanted us to be the best we could be. He will always have a special place in my heart.
Gayle Stevenson hired me in my first teaching job (at CHS, from where I had graduated just 4 years prior). The best advice he ever gave me (when as a new teacher I ran into trouble with discipline in the classroom and went to him for help) was "you need to skin your own skunks." He was a most wise and gentle boss--and very special man. I still skin my own skunks. Thank you.
