In Memory

Max Nielsen - Class Of 1967

Max Victor Nielsen passed away unexpectedly on October 19, 2017. Max was born

September 17, 1949 in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas to Max Arnold and Dawnine Blanche

(Townsend) Nielsen. He graduated from Clearfield High and faithfully served a LDS mission to

Denmark (February 1969-1971). Upon his return home from his mission, he met and later

married Sharon Jensen in the Salt Lake Temple on June 24, 1971. They had four children:

Jared (Crystal) Nielsen, Nathan (Melissa) Nielsen, Rachel (Jason) Lewis, and Donald (Jodie)

Nielsen. They later divorced. Max later met and married the love of his life Kathleen Ann

Reddington Krajewski for 26 joyful years. She brought with her three children: Tara Krajewski,

Meghan (Ned) Krajewski and Michael Krajewski.

Max started his career with the Union Pacific Railroad as a Brakeman and 42 wonderful

years later retired as a Conductor on March 30, 2013. His hobbies included traveling, camping,

hunting, fishing, science fiction novels & movies, but most of all, spending time with his family.

Sometimes the greatest way to serve someone is just by listening. He always listened

with an open mind and heart, never with the intent to reply but with the intent to understand.

Max was also very charitable, even at those times when he had nothing. He would give the shirt

off of his back if it meant that somebody needed it more.

We know in our hearts our loving Father, Grandpa and friend had received an offer no

one could refuse, a chance to return to his eternal family and home. He is preceded in death by

his parents, his brother Dan Nielsen and his late wife, Kathleen Nielsen. Max is survived by his

brother Arthur Nielsen, sister Samantha Nielsen, 13 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Please come join his friends and family in a celebration of life from 11:00a.m. to 2:00p.m.
