In Memory

Annette Whittaker (Magnin) - Class Of 1972

Our beloved Annette passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 7, 2019.

From a very early age Annette loved to read endlessly. At a young age she would visit her grandparent’s ranch with her family in Wyoming where she loved to ride the horses. She always enjoyed singing and was in several choirs at Clearfield High School from 1970 to 1972. She loved listening to music and going to concerts whenever possible.

Annette, was a volunteer at McKay Dee Hospital from 1971 to 1972 and became a Unit Secretary in 1973. She also worked for her orthopedic friends Doctors Mattsson, Stuart, and Bryan for several years before returning to McKay Dee Hospital.

On August 4, 1971 she first met her husband while he was stationed at Hill AFB as a Helicopter Mechanic. From that day forward they were never apart. They married on September 1, 1977. Her husband was from Massachusetts where they would travel many times to visit his family and watch the Red Sox at Fenway and The Patriots at Gillette Stadium.

On the day they first met on that August day in 1971 she was reading a book called “YAZ.” She had no idea that the guy she just met was from Boston and was a huge Carl Yastrzemski fan.

She loved to travel. Her husband wanted her to know what it was like to fly on a helicopter so he arraigned to fly over Jackson Hole Wyoming on their honeymoon and in 1982 over San Francisco Bay by the Golden Gate Bridge. Over the past 10 years she enjoyed going to Las Vegas twice a year with her husband.

Annette is survived by her husband, Alan; brother, Steve Whittaker; and sisters, Ginny (Dr. Brent) Payne, Sue (Dr. Mike) Crosby, and Carol (Martin) Turner. She was preceded in death by her parents.
