When I asked the class of '65 to help pay to put Paul Parker's name on the Sunset memorial, Gary stepped up and paid the entire cost. However the VA decided they wanted to pay for it, so the money was refunded. As of today Paul's name has still not been added. If anyone knows who from the VA said they would take care of it, please contact them so we can honor Gary's wish and have it added soon...Thank you Gary and RIP
Gary was such a great guy. When I had a garage sale he came up and dug in my basement and found parts to an old hutch I forgot was there. What a beautiful job he did on it. He was truly gifted in restoring things.
And the VA Did complete the engraving on the Mounment for Paul Parker...there was a mix-up about Paul's name and location, He graduated from CHS then moved to Salt Lake City and got married, so they listed him from Salt lake City instead of Sunset...so Judy Lemmons took care of it through the VA and got it added and paid...Check it out its in front of Sunset City Bldg, 1300 North...
