Sherrie Lynn Mills (Rhoades) - Class Of 1968

Sherrie Lynn Mills Rhoades, born March 16, 1950 passed away August 24, 2014 in her home after battling pancreatic cancer.  She married Donald Ray Rhoades March 11, 1967, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on March 11, 1980.

Sherrie was a wonderful mother to Shane (Pom) Rhoades, Clinton, UT; Lesli (Ken) Dana, Thayne, WY; Dustin Rhoades, Pocatello, ID; Clay (Sabrina) Rhoades, Casper, WY; Krystal (William) Furness, Tremonton, UT;  Raelyn (Brian) Musgrave, Hurricane, UT.  She also loved her 17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and was excited to have her third on the way.

She was born in Ogden, UT to Lloyd and June Mills.  Her brothers and sister are Larry (Nancy) Mills, Roger (Natalie) Mills, Eugene (Kathey) Mills and Mary (Mark) Carver.

Sherrie was a proud active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several church callings.  She also volunteered at Davis North Hospital, and volunteered as an EMT in Beaver Dam Arizona.

Sherrie loved to crochet afghans, cross stitching and sewing.  She loved fishing and hunting with her family, in addition to floating the Oneida River and boating although no one could get her on a tube.

Her education includes Clearfield High School and Mohave Community College where she received her EMT training.     

Sherrie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rulon and Mary Bill, her mother June Mills and her grandson Kolton Herring.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 29, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse 10thWard, 1600 So. 4500 W., Syracuse.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.  

The family would like to express our gratitude to Intermountain Home Care and Hospice for the service and care that was provided in her home.

In lieu of flowers, Sherrie asked that donations be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in her name.
