Lawrence Cook has to rank very near the top of the list of the most important educators who influenced my life during my junior and senior high school years.  As an English teacher, he taught essential, important values through literature, as well as modeling those values in his own classroom and in his life.  As a counselor, he was a great friend and sounding board.  Some of the lessons he taught me personally opened my heart and mind to concepts of eternal importance.  I didn’t have the privilege of seeing him function as a church leader, husband and father, but I have no doubt that he was superb in those callings.  He will be missed by many, but his influence lives on in the lives of those he touched.
