Alfie Harris - Class Of 1968

Alfred Verle Harris 

Syracuse – Alfred Verle Harris, 49, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at his home.
 
He was born March 2, 1950 in Rural Ewa, Oahu, Hawaii, a son of Verle and Georgia Leona Houghton Harris. His father was in the Air Force and he lived in various states and Japan. He graduated from Clearfield High School and Weber State University with a degree in Computer Science.
 
He married Carol Margaret Chadwick on September 14, 1973 in Ogden.
 
He was a member of the LDS Church. He was also a member of the VFW American Legion post 87.
 
He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and working on his computer. He especially enjoyed computer assisted drawing. He loved his children, family and friends.
 
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the Army as a combat medic.
 
He was survived by his wife of Syracuse, one son and one daughter,
Chad Alan (Tia) Harris, Riverdale, Amy Lee Harris, Syracuse.
 
Also surviving was one sister, Mrs. Grant (Pamela) Averett, West Valley.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Verle and Georgia Harris, of Clearfield.
 
Funeral services were held Monday, May 3, 1999, at the Syracuse 6th ward, 2450 South Bluff Road, at 11 a.m., with Bishop Joseph Driggs officiating.
 
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery at 1290 S. 100 W., Syracuse UT 84075 with military honors.
