CLEARFIELD - Elder Scott Robert Smith, a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, whose soul delighted in the things of the spirit, was touched by the finger of God and slipped into eternity on April 16, 2001.

At the time of his death, Scott was serving as a Zone Leader in the Seattle, Washington mission surrounded by a Heavenly host of God's most valiant servants. Our expressions of appreciation are extended to President and Sister Larson, the Elders and Sister missionaries and to all the members whose loving acts of kindness, and overwhelming expressions of Christ's love, have deeply touched our hearts for now and throughout eternity.

Scott was born on December 23, 1979, to Larry and Kathy Smith in Layton, Utah. He graduated from primary, received his Arrow of Light, Faith in God, and Duty to God Awards. Scott achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Scott graduated from Clearfield High School with honors. He attended Seminary where he earned a four year certificate of graduation. Prior to his departure to the mission field he attended Weber State University. He represented the Westwood Ward in the Clearfield North Stake.

Scott loved the out of doors, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting trips. He loved basketball, soccer and golf. Scott especially loved spending time with his family and being with his friends.
