Vance Kevin Lightfoot - Class Of 1975

Vance Kevin Lightfoot passed away peacefully at his Clinton home Monday, September 5, 2005 following complications from a motorcycle accident. He was born March 14, 1957 to Thomas E. and Eulalie Neville Lightfoot. He grew up in Sunset, Utah and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1975. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in the Brussels, Belgium Mission. He was married September 14, 1978 to Julie Read Lightfoot. The marriage was solemnized one year later in the Logan temple. They were later divorced but remained good friends. Vance worked in telecommunications for the Davis County School District. In the past, he had also owned and operated his own business, Advance Wire and Telephone. He served in various church callings including scouting and young mens. Vance had a love for music, especially classic rock. He loved riding his motorcycle and going on road trips. His kindness and his great sense of humor will be truly missed. Vance loved his family, his children, and loved being a grandpa to his grandchildren, Eli, Grace and Lincoln. He is survived by his children, Katie Simpson (Joe), Washington Terrace; Kristopher Vance Lightfoot (Stacy), Syracuse; and Keith Emerson Lightfoot, Riverdale. He is also survived by his parents, Thomas and Eulalie Lightfoot (Layton), and his siblings, Vicki Lucas (Alan), Ephraim; Kiele Nelson (Kevin), South Ogden; Kenna Garrett (Phil), Kaysville; half sister, Gayle Williams, Ogden; survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by half-sister Chrystine Lightfoot; nephew Mitch Nelson; and grandson Eli Simpson. Funeral services will be held Friday September 9, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Clinton Ward Chapel, 2841 W. 1300 No. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary 1867 North Fairfield Road and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment, Clinton City Cemetery.
