In Memory

Cheryl Fuit (Fullmer) - Class Of 1966

Following a valiant battle with lung cancer, Cheryl Lynn Fuit Fullmer, 69, passed away peacefully June 25, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on February 21, 1948 in Ogden Utah to Dean and LaRue Fuit. Cheryl grew up in Clinton, Utah and lived there most of her life. She attended Clinton Elementary, North Davis Jr. High, and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1966.

Cheryl married Lyle Johnston and later divorced. On October 6, 1973 Cheryl married the love of her life, Terry Layne Fullmer in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were married over 38 years, and settled and raised their family in Clinton, alongside her sisters and their families. She and her sisters had a bond unlike any other, and she always cherished the memories made, especially Saturday morning coffee.

Cheryl worked as a flight attendant for Transworld Airlines from 1968 to 1969, where she traveled and lived in New York City, Boston, and Los Angeles. She then began her career at Hill Air Force Base as a Logistics Management Specialist for the F-16 program. She retired after 32 years of service and during that time received numerous awards for outstanding service. She was a hard worker and was very respected among her coworkers. She used great organizational skills both in her career and at home.

Cheryl enjoyed golfing, 4 wheeling, fishing, camping, horse races, gambling, and watching football. She also loved to go dancing, especially when Elvis Presley or Eagles music was playing.

The most important thing to Cheryl was family. She took care of her disabled daughter for over 20 years, while raising her children and granddaughter, taking care of her husband, maintaining the daily household duties and still managed to work full time. Her generous and compassionate heart continuously shined, and she was always the first one to help out someone in need. She was the rock of our family, and truly was the strongest woman in the world. We love you “Queenie” and we will miss you! We know you will always be with us!

Our family would like to give a special thanks to David Sugihara for helping her live the last 4 years of her life to the fullest. She cherished and loved every moment with him.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings: Dennis, David, Dale, and Kristine Fuit. She is survived by her daughters: Monica Murray, Kelly Candelaria, and Carrie (Caleb) Archer. Four loving grandchildren: Talisha (Matthew) Gailey, Dylan Sorensen, Jackson Sorenson, and Saya Sarun, as well as her first great-grandson on the way, Baby Jax. She is also survived by her sisters: Karen (Dan) Widdison, Cindy (Arverd) Taylor, Gale Smith; Brother in laws: Kent (Sherry) Fullmer, Lynn Fullmer; Sister in law: Sandra Dalton

A special thanks to Dr. Wallace Akerly and his staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Cheryl truly appreciated their professionalism and all of their support over the past year and a half. Also to Symbii Hospice for the compassionate care that was provided, especially her nurse Dolly.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 30, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., and on Friday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., prior to services.

Interment in the Clinton City Cemetery.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-mortuary.com.

Cheryl had a life well lived and may she rest in peace with all her family that had gone ahead of her.  To the family left behind may you each find peace in knowing that Cheryl is no longer suffering.  I pray Jesus will hold her in His loving arms.

In Christ,

Phyllis Hewitt Smith
