Richard Gene Dayton, age 76, passed away peacefully at Sunflower Assisted Living in Plain City Utah. He is now reunited with the love of his life Brenda (Warby) Dayton.

Richard was born on October 8, 1949, in Ogden Utah, to Theone "Junior" and Helen Dayton. He grew up in Taylor attending elementary school there before moving to South Weber. He later raised his family in Hooper, where he lived for 40 years. He spent his final six years living in West Weber with his son, Sheldon and daughter-in-law Jamilyn.

On August 18, 1972, Richard married Brenda Marie Warby. They shared 46 wonderful years of marriage before her passing. Inseparable through-out their lives, they did everything together, including traveling across the western United States in their trailer and enjoying their short time in Yuma Arizona.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Richard received the rank of an Eagle Scout as sophomore from Clearfield High where he graduated. Following in his father’s footsteps he spent 45 years in construction working for Parsons. He was a skilled equipment operator, spending most of his career as a dozer operator at their South Weber Pit.

Richard was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved the outdoors, especially camping, hunting and fishing. Some of his favorite moments were spent kokanee fishing at Flaming Gorge with his son and grandsons. He was also a member of the NUATV trail riders of Northern Utah where he enjoyed countless side by side rides and made many wonderful friends.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Brenda, his son Chad, his parents Junior and Helen Dayton, and his parents in law, Keith and Evelyn Warby. Richard is survived by

his daughter Charity Dayton (Tj Sweitzer) of Ogden, his son Sheldon and daughter in law Jamilyn Dayton of West Weber. His brothers Dean (Jeri) Dayton of South Weber and Mark (Natalie) Dayton of Weston, Idaho. 5 Grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
