Michael J Grover - Class Of 1963

Michael passed away on December 6, 2018, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Born November 30, 1944 in Coleville UT to Morgan and Marjorie Grover, Michael spent many years working on his grandfather's farm, a place he dearly loved.

The family moved to Clearfield, Michael graduated from Clearfield High School, serving as Student Body President for the second and third year of Clearfield High's existence. He married his high school sweetheart Jo O'Malley. From that union came two beautiful daughters Lisa and Michelle. Michael and Jo later divorced but always remained friends.

He graduated from UNLV, worked at Timet in Henderson, NV where he made many lifelong friends. After returning to Northern Utah Michael formed the business "Redwood Creations," where this very talented carpenter made exquisite outdoor redwood furniture.

Michael was a kind and giving man who was always helping others. Among other things, he bought breakfast or lunch for someone almost every time he went out to eat.

On Dec. 11, 1999, Michael married his soul mate Judy Shaw. They had a wonderful life together and blended their families with ease.

Michael is survived by his wife Judy, daughter Michelle, sister Ronna (James), sister-in-law Brenda, aunt Bonnie, stepson Kelly (Wendy); grandchildren: Joshua, Joseph, Auston, Gaige (Jade), Jordan (Trevor), Taylor (Alan), Kaden, Hunter, and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many cousins who he loved dearly.

Michael was proceeded in death by his parents Morgan and Marjorie, daughter Lisa, brother Kim, great-grandson Korbin, and aunt Ruth.

Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Fairfield Village Assisted Living in Layton, Utah, for their kind and compassionate care, and to the staff of Applegate Hospice. To Nicole, his nurse and Jackie, the Chaplin, go even greater thanks. Michael and Judy cannot thank you enough for your love and support.

As Michael's last gift of unselfishness, he donated his body to the University of Utah in hopes that they might be able to learn more about cancer and increase their research for a cure. Michael did not want a funeral, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers make a donation to your favorite charity in Michael's name, or do as he always did: treat a stranger to a meal.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
