Michael D (Dennis) Barton (1963)

I remember Richard. He lived in Cherry Hill subdivision near my best friend Ron Call. We were not friends because he was kind of a bully. I had heard that he had been killed in a ORV accident. His Dad had a car sales lot in Clearfield. Would have like to know him better.

I will go with Jim Brower abouy Richard Ashby. I saw Richard at the High Hat Bar, Sunset before he died. He had a few fights under his belt.  He did seem to pick on alot of kids at school, usually smaller than himself. I remember Eugene Carlson gave him a good fight at school.. But Richard had his personal problems and they are all over with now, Bless his soul.

Richard had his issues but I have forgiven him.

May he rest in peace.

I remember Richard as a tall guy who liked to intimidate others. He whapped me on the head in Steck's human physiology class, but that was it. In those days, cool cars were big, and he had a sweet red and white '57 chevy.

Trying to figure out Richard Ashby's middle name reminds me of the discussions brought up in history class about the Middle Ages and how theologians were discussing may angles can fit on the head of a pin.

I remember Richard as being a bully and we ended up wrestling a number of times while walking home from elementary school.  One thing that really surprised me about him was that he had a very good singing voice and I remember him singing a couple of times either in elementary school or junior high.  One song I remember him singing was the song called "He".

Like Dennis Barton mentioned Richard did live in Cherry Hills (700 East ) just own the block from myself and Ron Call and Bob Everhart lived just farther down the block.  Richards mothers name was Gloria and his father did own a car lot in town where the Post Office is now.  His Uncle (Chet) had a TV and Radio repair business and drown a Chey station wago with speakers on the roof.  He would drive around town and make announcements about this goiing on in town,  (Events, Little league games etc.)  He did have an older sister, for some reason I thought her name ws Glenda, but it could very well have been Suzanne.  He was killed in an off road accident in Nevada as I recall.

As a side comment to Don Stevens I believe you were thinking of Tom Ashton who had a sister named Dee.  He lived on Center Street between Paul Wilcox and Gene Hodson right across the street from Wasatch Elementary.  And by the way Don I do remember your Pontiac convert.

Thank you Richard for bringing back all those memories. Although specific memories of Richard were not happy it was good to share and hear from old friends and classmates.

Steve Mitchell has a good memory. I had forgotten about Chet Ashby. He lived on State street & 300 N.  Diagonally  from the Pink Bunny. If I'm not mistaken he was a ham radio guy & I think Suzanne was his daughter not Richard 's sister. Steve Barlow would know if he'd chime in here.
