Derrell Ray Christiansen - Class Of 1970

Derrell “RAY” Christiansen, age 61, returned home to his Heavenly Father and loved ones on August 20, 2014, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

He was born in Spanish Fork, Utah on October 10, 1952, the son of Derrell Dee Christiansen and Leatha May Stickney. He has six siblings.

Ray was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a two year mission to the New England States following his graduation from Clearfield High School.

He was sealed in marriage to his sweetheart, Tanya Alyce Bryan on January 24, 1975, in the Logan LDS Temple. They made their home in Clinton, Utah and have shared 40 wonderful years together. They are the parents of eight children, Britanie Rallison (David) of Sunset, Holly Langford (Brad) of Washington Terrace, Stephanie Allred (David) of Tremonton, Jennifer Garrick (Justin) of Clinton, Kaydee Anderson (Zach) of Clearfield and Trent Ray, Bryan Derrell, and Karen Eva, who all passed away in infancy.

Ray was an amazing man and provider for his family with a career in trucking for over 30 years. There was nothing more important to him than spending time with his wife, children and 21 grandchildren.

Ray had many friends because of his outgoing personality and sense of humor. He loved to play tricks on everyone. He brought much joy and happiness to all who knew him. He enjoyed spending time and watching movies with his brother, Lyle. He loved fishing and listening to oldies. He had an amazing talent in art and could draw almost anything.

Ray is survived by his loving wife, his mother, five daughters, his siblings, and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three children, his father, and his grandparents.

Ray will be greatly missed by many.

The family wishes to express their love and appreciation to all who have loved and supported them during the past eight months. Special thanks to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, the staff at McKay-Dee Hospital and CNS Hospice Care.
