In Memory

Tamra Bingham (Flanery) - Class Of 1977

Our Dear Sweet Tami, a spark and light in all our lives, fought a good fight, kept the faith and finished her course early Friday morning, September 26th at the McKay Dee Hospital surrounded by friends and family.

Tami was born April 28th, 1959, to loving parents, Arnold Thayne Bingham and Blanche Kirkman. She was the 5th of 7 children and was a glorified tom-boy who could out-pitch, out- dribble, and challenge anyone to buck hay bales and prove how tough she was. Her competitive nature and fun-loving personality won her many friends.

Tami graduated from Clearfield High School where she was a cheerleader. She later returned to school and earned her Bachelor's degree in business.

She served an L.D.S. mission to Dearborn, Michigan where she met Tim. He followed her home and she later married him, her best friend, in the Salt Lake Temple and worked beside him in their business for many years. She also worked for Medirec and White Motors where she met many friends who became life-long treasures to her.

She was all the kids' favorite Aunt. She had a gift of genuine love and enduring faith and trust in her Savior. She made everyone feel as if they were her best friend and her animation expressed her enthusiasm for life. She faithfully served in many callings in her various wards and loved working with the Young Women and Relief Society Sisters.

She loved her girls, and loved to play catch in the yard, dance in the kitchen, put notes of inspiration in lunch boxes and all around the house, and go fishing at Lyman Lake. Her girls were the light of her life.

Tami was a beautiful artist and many of us benefitted from her generosity when it came to oil paintings or even doodles on a card she sent. A letter was a work of art.

Tami loved to run and finished many marathons and inspired many others to join her running. Her latest full marathon was in 2011, just 2 months after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Her running club, "The Fatso's" helped her cross the finish line the last 2 years.

Although she's crossed her earthly finish line with courage, stamina and unbelievable valor, we take comfort in knowing she is standing at the finish line cheering us all on.

Tami is survived by her husband and 3 daughters, Cali (Mike Seguin), Madison and Tiana (currently serving in the Houston, Texas Mission) Her mother, 4 sisters, Judy Porter (Randy), Marsha Weller (Bob), Mitzi Bingham of West Point and Lana Olsen (Bent) of Riverdale, and 1 Brother, Van Bingham (Tami) of Corinne, and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her Father, and a brother, Alan Bingham.

The family wishes to thank a special friend, Dr. Laura Lambert, her surgeon from Boston, and many friends from the Worchester, Massachusetts Ward and her ward in Layton. Many Acts of service by these and some extra-special friends have eased our burdens these last 3-plus years.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 1st at the La Donna Mesa Ward, 2375 East, 3225 North, Layton, at 11:00 A.M. The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton and again Wednesday morning from 9:40 to 10:40 at the church. Interment will be at West Point Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund in Tami's name (Tami, Fight to the Finish) at the America First Credit Union to help offset funeral expenses.
