Kim L. Schenck - Class Of 1971

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Kim L Schenck, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2014. He was born on April 21, 1953 in Ogden, Utah to Oscar "Lyman" and Fern Layton Schenck. He married his eternal sweetheart, Mary Jean Nelson, on June 16, 1975 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. 
Kim was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission to Canada-Alberta/Saskatchewan. He loved his church callings, serving faithfully as Executive Secretary, Counselor in the Bishopric and his many other callings. He especially loved teaching his Sunday School class.
Kim graduated from Clearfield High School and earned an Associate's Degree in Sales from Weber State College. 
He worked at Hertz Car Sales for 30 years and loved the friendships he created and the employees he worked beside.
Kim had a great love for life and his hobbies always became passions; including sports, boating, fly fishing, and especially golf. He was dedicated to his grandchildren and acted as a vocal cheerleader, coach and mentor. He had great impact in their lives. 
Kim and Mary deeply love each other, enjoyed every moment together and truly were best friends. 
Through golf he developed a very deep relationship with his brothers. He loved people, especially his family, ward members and golf buddies.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Jennifer (Cole) Gilbert, Chris (Brenda) Schenck and Heidi (Adam) Wray; 9 grandchildren, Kyle, Parker, Alec, Gracie, Talia, Hunter, Logan, Nikko and Jilly; 2 brothers, Dee Schenck and Gary Schenck; sister, Nola Wood; and mother-in-law, Marilyn C. Nelson
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carma Frazier and brother, Rex Schenck; and father-in-law, Roy C. Nelson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Uintah Church, 6660 South 1775 East . A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd and prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
