Marci Drake (Hansen) - Class Of 1976

Marci Drake Hansen, our earthly angel, of Wanship, Utah passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 18, 2015.

Marci was born in San Jose, California on October 13, 1957 to H. Marvin Drake and Marlene Gough.  She was the second of their nine children.  On February 15, 1980 she married her sweetheart Brooks W. Hansen in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

Marci’s family is devastated by the loss of their sweet wife and mother.  She is the beloved mother of five sons, who love her dearly.  Becoming a grandmother was the highlight of her life, and was completely devoted to her twin grandbabies.  She often said that she should have had grandkids first.

Marci loved to travel and see new places with her family.  She especially loved New England in the fall. Marci loved music and enjoyed spending time playing the piano.

Everyone that had the opportunity to know Marci loved her.  She was the most thoughtful, caring and considerate person, and she was always looking for opportunities to serve others.

Marci was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and her community.  She loved the gospel and she loved her Savior.  She served in many capacities in her local congregations throughout her life, and she loved serving on the North Summit County Fire Board where she served as treasurer.

She is survived by her husband, eternal companion and best friend Brooks, her five sons Aaron (Katie), Blake (Maren), Curtis (Melissa), Nicholas, Jeffrey, and her two grandsons Mason and Luke. Her parents H. Marvin and Marlene Drake, her mother-in-law Doris Hansen, her two sisters and six brothers.
