In Memory

Randy Earl Dalton - Class Of 1968

Randy Earl Dalton was born on May 11, 1950 in Price, Utah, to Cecil Dalton and Verna Grundvig. His dad later married Arthella Foote, and settled in Clinton, Utah. In his blended family he had a total of fourteen siblings: Chuck, Clark, Joann, Fran, Ron, Lorna, Dave, Cathy, Jesse, Frank, Felix, Martin, Clarence, and Joe.

Randy married his sweetheart Sandra Ann Fullmer in 1968. The following year, they welcomed their first daughter, Sherice Ann. Then came Jude Nephi; a few years later, Angel Arthella, and finally Crystal Beth. During this time Randy developed a strong love for the gospel of Jesus Christ, he became a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had an enviable gift for memorization and his ability to quote scripture was incredible! Though he didn't limit that gift to just scripture; he was-without question-Bob Dylan's biggest fan and he would quote entire Bob Dylan songs to anyone who would listen-and for as long as they would listen.

He moved his family to Liberty, Utah in 1978. He called it his "piece of heaven." He also started a successful floor-covering store in Ogden, which has now been in business for 38 years. A little later in life he bought a Harley-Davidson and never being one to do things small, he started his own motorcycle "gang." He lived passionately, loved deeply, and he was fiercely loyal. In return he was loved dearly, made many faithful friends, and his life was full of wonderful experiences. He could tell a story that had you enthralled or a joke that would always make you laugh, even though chances are, it wasn't the first time you'd heard him tell it.

He was a fanatic about hunting, and loved wholesome poker games with his family and friends; he especially loved teaching his grandsons to play.

Randy is survived by his fourteen siblings (including many loving nieces and nephews), his adoring wife; his four children; and their children, who are: Sherice's three sons, Chance (m. Jordan) Clarke, Jaden and Preston Dunn; Jude's two children, Wyatt and Avery Dalton; Angel's four children, Dylan (m. Kennedy) Rogers, Tayton and Lexi Bybee, and Jerzie Winn; Crystal's five children, Cody, Blakely, Porter, Tyler, and Brianna Barton; daughter-in-law, Natalie Dalton, and two sons-in-law, Jason Johnson, and David Barton. He was also so proud to be the great-grandpa of Saige Clarke. Many hearts broke on June 29, 2016 when Heaven quietly took him home. But just as Bob Dylan said: "Behind every beautiful thing, there's been some kind of pain;" though our parting is painful, Randy gave us some of the most beautiful memories we have, we are better people because he loved us.
