Elizabeth "Lizzie" Sutherland (Tanner) - Class Of 2006

Elizabeth “Lizzie” Tanner (Sutherland) passed away on Thursday morning, October 5, 2017, from complications due to pneumonia. Lizzie was born June 19, 1988 in Englewood, Colorado to Tonia Marie Norton (Larsen) and Randy G Sutherland. She was raised in Syracuse, Utah and she graduated from Clearfield High School.

Liz struggled with Muscular Dystrophy, but she never let it get her down. Her pride and joy was her daughter Hannah, who was truly the apple of her eye. She pushed herself and accomplished nearly anything that she put her mind to, but her main drive was always her daughter. She was a terrific mother.

Lizzie was a talented and accomplished bead-worker and won prizes for her work making jewelry. She was a tough and beautiful little princess. Despite her challenges with Muscular Dystrophy, she was a strong spirit and was often described as sassy (A trait that everyone adored about her). The determination and mental strength that she exhibited was really something to be admired. She was very social and easily made friends everywhere she went. Her “can do” attitude and caring personality were certainly an inspiration to everyone around her. Lizzie will be greatly missed and remembered in our hearts forever.

We know that the staff at the South Ogden Post-Acute Care Center where Liz lived will also miss her. They were very fond of her, and took great care of her needs while she was with them. Thank you for helping to make Lizzie’s daily life as good as possible for her.

The staff at Ogden Regional were also very nice to Lizzie, and we appreciated the personal attention and care that Lizzie received while she was there.

Elizabeth is survived by her beloved daughter, Hannah Elizabeth Bell; mother, Tonya “Kat” Norton; parents, Randy and Summer Sutherland; sisters, Sadee, Rachael, and Athena; and her brother, Reese.

Friends may visit with family on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. No formal services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help with expenses would be greatly appreciated.

There's still time to send flowers to the Visitation at the Lindquist Ogden Mortuary from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on October 15, 2017.
