Brandon Cecil Kap - Class Of 1993

Brandon Cecil Kap passed away peacefully on October 13, 2018, after a 12-year valiant battle with cancer. He was born May 28, 1975, to Calvin and Barbara Valentine Kap, the second of three boys. He married the love of his life, Brooke Elizabeth Beus, on June 25, 2002, in the Bountiful Utah Temple.

Brandon is the proud father of three amazing children. He is their coach, their mentor, their rock, their world, their best friend!

Brandon will be remembered for his sense of humor, one who enjoyed life to the fullest. Brandon is never without a huge smile. He is a kid at heart and made everything fun. He is a great coach, fun-loving dad, and an all-around great guy. Family is Brandon's everything!

Brandon is a man's man, strong-willed, physically and mentally tough, a fierce competitor. He is one of those men that so many of us look up to and admire because of his unwavering courage and strength, truly the best individual this earth has ever seen.

Brandon graduated from Clearfield High School in 1993, where he was a captain of the state championship football team, played baseball and a wrestler. Attended Snow and Dixie State colleges where he played football.

He is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a missionary in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Brandon loved playing in the dirt and made it his life's work. He was an excellent excavator for over 18 years, owning his own business.

When he was not in the dirt you could find him and his family at the ballpark or soccer field cheering on his three favorite athletes. On a rare occasion, when he had a free Saturday, he enjoyed snowmobiling and going to the dunes with his family.

Brandon will be remembered and cherished by his sweet wife, Brooke; their three beautiful children: Talan (12), Karver (9), Presley (8); his parents, Calvin and Barbara Kap; two siblings, Casey (Amanda) and Todd (Sarah); Brooke's parents, Dean and Verla Beus; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, in-laws and Grandma Corrine Valentine.

Brandon is preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Norma Kap, and James Valentine. Brandon will be missed, but his example will live on through all that have been blessed to know him.

Brandon's family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to his amazing family, friends, and community. And for his doctors and nurses at Huntsman Cancer Institute and the hospice team at Intermountain Healthcare for the loving care given to him throughout his illness.
