Joe died of COPD, not Covid, in his home in Sierra Vista, Arizona on November 4, 2020.

Joe loved his family, music, fishing, his abundance of friends and musicians. Joe was a legend with his music along the Wasatch Front. He loved life with all of his friends and music.

Joe is proceeded in death by his father, Isaiah "Jack" Meeks, his mother, Joan Meeks, his Brother, Fredrick "Rick" Meeks. He leaves behind his wife, Diane Hammons-Meeks, daughters, Lorie Meeks and Amy Meeks, the Grandson he loved so dearly, Joseph Ferrero, his name sake.
