Eddie (Ed) Michael Leikis, passed away on March 25, 2026 in Clearfield, Utah at the age of 69. He was recently discovered deceased in his Clearfield home, due to natural causes. Ed was born on July 4, 1956 in Ogden, Utah sharing his birthday with a niece and the entire United States! He attended schools in the Clearfield area and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1974. Ed also enjoyed attending luncheons with some of his former classmates each month.

He was very gifted in his mechanical abilities and was a certified GM Master Mechanic for several years while working at multiple auto dealerships in Bountiful and Ogden, Utah. Later, he worked as a boat technician for several years and was the head mechanic at Petersen Marine in Riverdale, Utah until his retirement.

He had hobbies that ranged from rock collecting and lapidary to collecting coins, magazines, and guns and enjoyed going to gun, boat and rock shows. Ed loved boating on area lakes and reservoirs with his beautiful boat, especially relaxing and fishing on Lake Powell. He loved camping and fishing with family in many locations of the Utah mountains. His love for his canine friends was very evident all his life.

Ed devoted many years caring for his mother LaVona, especially as her health declined in her later years. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Anthony Leikis Sr., his mother, LaVona Daines Leikis, and most of his siblings, Albert A. Leikis Jr., Lona Stella Leikis, Vicki Marie Leikis and Cathy Ann Leikis.

He is survived by his brother, David L. Leikis (Debbie Fisher) of Mendon, Utah and sister-in-law Doris Byington Leikis and nieces and nephews Shanna Sadler and Craig Leikis, Kurt A. Leikis, Amber Leikis Meadows, Russell Leikis, Jason Leikis and Rebecca Leikis Andersen.

Family and friends of Ed are deeply saddened to learn of his passing and wish to thank Officer Wiberg of the Clearfield Police department for his compassion and diligence in assisting us.
