In Memory

Michael Gacioch - Class Of 1984

Michael Joseph Gacioch

Michael Joseph Gacioch was born on November 23, 1964. He passed away on July 23, 2026 at the age of 61. He was born in Riverside, California to David and Donna Gacioch. Mike grew up in Clearfield Utah surrounded by his four brothers and graduated from Clearfield High School. Michael was a member of the Catholic Church.

Mike was a true gentle man. He was a kind, gentle soul with an abundance of love to give. He loved his family fiercely, and always had a story or a memory to share. Mike always cared about his family members, whether near or far. If he was not able to visit with them, he always asked about them and wanted them to know he loved them. Mike had a strong love for pretty ladies, music, hair gel, candy and soda. He loved rap and rock and roll and could sing along with most of the music from the 80's and 90's. Mike was never without a soda in his hand and a smile on his face. He loved creamer with a touch of coffee. He loved a good joke, a good meal, a genuine hug, and time spent with those he loved.

Mike had many nicknames, the most common being Mikey and Rapmaster G. He gave his brothers their own monikers, Apples, Peaches and Tunchkins and in return was known as Mickle the Pickle. Mike always talked about growing up in Clearfield and the fun he had with his brothers. Mike also had an amazing relationship with his Mom, and they spent a lot of time together dining at the local buffets.

Mike had many jobs throughout his life. He was a hard worker and enjoyed interacting with people. He was a grocery store stocker, bagger, cart puller, and worked in the fast food industry as well. Mike also had many friends throughout his life. He spent time in Day Treatment, where he had good friends that he had known for years. His memory was incredible and he always remembered someone if he had met them, even if it was thirty years ago. Day treatment was also where Mike met some special ladies, and he was always a generous boyfriend.

Mike loved the holidays, particularly those where presents were involved. Each time he would come over during the Christmas holidays he made sure to check for any presents under the tree. He would pull them all out one by one and count them just to make sure he had some with his name on them under the tree. Mike and his Mom shared a birthday month, with their birthdays being days apart and so we always celebrated their birthdays together, which was a great joy for Mike and his Mom.

Mike's life was not always easy, but he was always positive, always kind, and the most loving soul you will ever meet. He was beloved and will be missed by those who had the privilege to know him and love him.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, David and Donna Gacioch, and his youngest brother, Peter Gacioch. Mike is survived by his three brothers, David Gacioch, Stephen (Loralee) Gacioch, and Timothy (Dave) Gacioch. He also had several nephews and nieces that he loved, as well as extended family.

Special thanks to those who supported Mike outside of his family, you were precious in Mike's life and we appreciate the love and care you provided, particularly Brandon Ward and Britney Talbot, as well as his former sister in law and her family, Theresa Jelsma for having Mike over for barbecues.

Mike will be laid to rest on August 1, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Mt Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Salt Lake City.

In lieu of flowers, please raise a can of soda or have a cup of creamer with a touch of coffee in Mike's honor.
