Sheri Martinez was born on November 23, 1956, and passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2026. While our hearts are heavy with her loss, we are grateful for the many memories she leaves behind and the love she shared so freely throughout her life.

Sheri was the beloved daughter of Gerald Cottrell and Patricia Zabel, both of whom preceded her in death. She carried their love with her throughout her life and now joins them once again.

Sheri lived life with a big heart and an even bigger sense of loyalty. She was a devoted fan of the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Dodgers, and anyone who knew her knew she could cheer on her teams with passion and pride. Whether celebrating a big win or standing by them through a tough season, she was a fan through and through.

Above everything else, Sheri treasured her family. They were the center of her world and the source of her greatest joy. She married the love of her life, Tomas Martinez, at a young age and was welcomed into the Martinez family with open arms. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. When Tomas passed away in 2015, a piece of Sheri's heart went with him. She missed him deeply every day, and there is comfort in believing they are together once again.

Sheri took great pride in her ability to cook, a talent she always credited to the Martinez family matriarch, who taught her that food was one of the purest ways to show love. Whether it was a holiday gathering, a family barbecue, or an ordinary weeknight dinner, Sheri made sure everyone had more than enough to eat. No one ever left her table hungry, and there was always room for one more. The meals she prepared brought people together and created memories that will be cherished for years to come.

In her later years, Sheri found constant companionship in her beloved dog, Buddy. He was far more than a pet. He was her faithful friend, her comfort, and her constant source of unconditional love. The bond they shared brought her happiness, laughter, and peace.

Sheri built a long and successful career working in both manufacturing and retail. She genuinely loved working with people, and it showed in every interaction. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcome and appreciated. Many customers would wait until they knew Sheri was working because they enjoyed her kindness, her smile, and the personal connection she made with everyone she met. She never treated people like customers. She treated them like friends.

Sheri will be remembered for her strength, her warm heart, her unwavering love for her family, and the simple joy she found in everyday life. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and love that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
