Norma LaVern Pollett
May 26, 1947 — Sep 12, 2026
Norma Lavern Pollett (Vernie/Luvy), age 79, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2026, in her home in Clinton, Utah, after a short illness. She was surrounded with all the love of her family. Born on May 26, 1947, in Ogden, Utah, she was the daughter of Vernon and Norma Hulse, and the second of three daughters.
Lavern graduated from Clearfield High School with the Class of 1965. She married in 1967 and was blessed with her one and only daughter, Tracy. Though later divorced, Lavern dedicated her life to loving her family, adoring her nephews and nieces, and bringing people together. She deeply cherished holiday gatherings and family fun. Blessed with a vibrant spirit, she loved going to parties with friends and was truly the life of the party.
On July 2, 1981, she married her true love, Larry Pollett. With this union, her family grew to include five stepchildren, as well as more brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Together, Lavern and Larry shared a wonderful life filled with camping, visiting family, and going on vacations. Tragically, she lost her beloved husband in 2009 due to cancer. In the years following his passing, she was deeply comforted by the friends and family who rallied around her, ensuring her remaining years were filled with joy.
Lavern is survived by her sisters, Linda Hildreth and Sandra Sands; her daughter, Tracy Spencer; her grandsons, Andrew Ricci and Steffen Spencer; her granddaughter, Nichole (Kai) Spencer; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Norma Hulse, and her beloved husband, Larry Pollett.
In accordance with her wishes, rather than a traditional formal service, Lavern’s family will plan a big party in the near future to celebrate her life, exactly as she wanted. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, a cause dear to her heart.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Renew Hospice and her nurse, Austin, for their compassionate care. They also extend a very special thank you and deep appreciation to her granddaughter, Kai (Nikki), for taking such exceptional care of her over the last few years.
