Roger William Smith
Jul 27, 1964 — Sep 21, 2026
Roger William Smith died suddenly September 21, 2026. He was 62 years old. Roger was born on July 27, 1964 in Ogden, Utah to William Robert Lee Smith and Lenore Christensen Smith.
He attended Davis County schools and was a graduate of Clearfield High School. He served a mission for the LDS Church to the California San Diego area. He attended Weber State College and was employed by the Internal Revenue Service until his medical retirement.
He was a resident of Clinton, Utah and attended the Clinton 7th ward. Most recently he resided at the Rocky Mountain Care Facility in Clearfield where he enjoyed Bingo and the art activities. Collecting art supplies and puzzle books and watching TV were favorite hobbies. Roger loved to reminisce about the old days; holidays held special memories for him. He loved to watch tv shows from the 60’s, especially westerns. He liked movies that included bombs exploding, lots of shooting and a hero that saves the day. He liked fast food, Mountain Dew, anything with shrimp, and grape slushes.
Roger loved people. He was very social and liked to joke with everyone around him. He loved dogs and always had at least one to keep him company when he could.
Roger’s health limited his activities in his later years, but he remained upbeat and interested in what friends and relatives were doing.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother Dennis Smith and his grandmother Margaret Christensen, who held a special place in Roger’s life. Thanks to the staff at Rocky Mountain for the care Roger received during his stay there. He counted the staff and other residents as his friends.
There will be a visitation Thursday Oct 1, 2026 from 6 pm to 8 pm in the LDS church at 2206 W 2300 N in Clinton, Utah. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Friday Oct 2, 2026 at the Morgan South Cemetery.
