The mystery is solved! There was a lot of talk about the Homecoming football game, but no one was giving the details of the game. Gary Poll decided to phone the school and get the low-down.  The Clearfield Falcons will host the Lehi Pioneers for the Homecoming Football Game on Friday, September 17th at 7:00 pm. Gary would like you to join him so that he can sit with someone that he knows.  Please phone him at (801) 543-9777 if you'd like to go to the football game with Class of '68 friends.

An open letter from the

CHS sanctioned Alumni...

Dear Clearfield High School Alumni:

Clearfield High School has many outstanding alumni who have used their education and experiences to become successful, positive contributors to society.
We believe that positive role models are extremely important in todays world, and that these graduates of Clearfield High should be held up as models for todays students. Because of the fine education and opportunities that were afforded you while in high school, we would hope you feel a desire to help our current students have the same kind of quality education.
In order to run an active Alumni Association, we need your help. There are many plans that are in the making, i.e., a Student Alumni Scholarship to be given to a worthy student at the end of each school year; our 50th Year Anniversary Celebration which kicked off at an Alumni Assembly in April; a newly founded Hall of Fame whereby each year we will select an alumni who meets the criteria set forth for induction into the Clearfield High School Hall of Fame.  You can nominate someone you think is worthy of this honor by going to the CHS Web Site and filling in the form. A permanent display of honorees will be designed, built and dedicated this 50th year so that all students will be able to learn about our graduates. If you choose to donate to your old Alma Mater, the proceeds from your donations will go toward creating this beautiful Hall of Fame, the student scholarships, the paved sidewalk, etc.  Another part of our plan is to build a brick paver pathway from the school to Falcon Stadium with Alumni names engraved on pavers which will mark the way. These pavers will be sold as a Fundraiser.  Again, you can order them online.
To make a donation by credit card please use the following instructions: Click the "DONATE" button on the Alumni Home Page. This link will take you to Pay Pal. It will guide you through, using your credit card.  For cash or check, come by the school and pay it in the office or mail it to Clearfield High School Alumni Association, c/o Jan Boyington, 931 South 1000 East, Clearfield, UT 84015.  Please know how much we appreciate your generosity!
This is truly one of the biggest years for Clearfield High School ever, since it is the 50th Anniversary Celebration year.  All year long there will things going on.   Check the school web site often.  For Homecoming, there is the game on September 17 at 7:00 p.m. where we will be honoring the Dyson Brothers as well as our third Hall of Fame Recipient.  The next day at Fisher Park (across the street from the high school) from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. there will be an Alumni Family Picnic.  Details are on the CHS school web site as well. Come and meet old friends from years ago.
The web site for the school is www.davis.k12.ut.us/chs/alumni.  You will find any information that you need about the school or activities on this site.  Mike Hanks will keep this site updated and refer you to it whenever there is a change.  Please feel free to contact our Alumni President Janine Barker, Kent Jorgensen, 50th Chairperson or Jan Boyington, CHS Alumni irector at the addresses below:

Hi Michael, Thank you for all the information you have been sending out on the reunion, it sounds fun. Our class is having their reunion this year, July 30-31 at the park and having dinner in Park City the following night.

Tom Kay is from our class of 1970. That is exciting that he will represent the parade in July. I think he was the smartest guy in our class.

The year we graduated was a great year and being the historian gave me many reasons to collect item, news articles, pictures etc...... For some crazy reason I ended up with the class of 1968 junior year scrapbook that has a lot of information and pictures as well.

If you happen to know of anyone who would like to put claim to this scrapbook and/or other items from CHS. let me know. I think the class of 67-68 would find the information fun! An article of interest might be, Dan Garner won the CHS "Veterans of Foreign Wars' Voice of Democracy" contest over 60-70 contestants entered, with Dan taking honors.

"Pens for Pennies" were sold for 35 cents. The ball-point-pens are for the traditional green and white and have the basketball schedule printed on them, stated Frankie Barlow. For some reason I still have one of these pens in my desk.

April 22, 1966, presents TENDER IS THE NIGHT dance tickets, colors: pink and blue, $2.50 per couple. For some reason I have the original tickets.....go figure!

One last article you might find interesting: Players of the week, Kenny Gardner, Bob Galaezzi, Milan Blake, Bruce Stokes, George Atsitty, Randy Robinson. If any of these things are of interest, feel free to contact me.

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE GONE ON AND THOSE WHO STILL SERVE...

On Wednesday November 11, 2009 the Clearfield High School AFJROTC held its annual Veteran's Day Ceremony.

It took place at 7:45 a.m. on the north end of the Clearfield High football field. A large group of students, teachers and Administrators were there to support our AFJROTC members. This year's ceremony paid a special tribute to eleven former CHS students who gave the ultimate sacrifice. The CHS Class of 1968 decided at their recent 41st reunion, to remember their class members who died in Vietnam and other wars. They presented a Memorial Plaque to the school listing the names of the eleven service men. Family members of the deceased, CHS students, and the community were all in attendance.
