CHS English class, because of alphabetic assigned seating we sat across from each other. One day Lawanna asked me if she could borrow a piece of paper. That broke the ice.

In my English class in February of 1965 with Mr Untersinger as the teacher, a pretty girl on the row to my left and a half seat ahead of me(alphabetically seating arrangements at that time) turned to me and asked if she could “borrow” a piece of paper. Wow what a chick! This girl, Lawanna Child, really got my attention! Of course I gave her a piece of paper. I had never paid any attention to her until that request. Later when we would meet in that class we would exchange notes to one another. This then lead to our dating. Sometime later we exchanged marriage vows

Have had an opportunity to do lots of traveling in my work. Lawanna was able to go with me on a few occasions. I have been in every state in the U.S. and several countries. Because of my travel experiences we have it in our blood, so we do as much traveling as we can. Our first responsibility is to our children and we spend lots of time watching our grandchildren (15). Some live out of state but this gives us another excuse to go and visit.
Over the years we have been very involved with our LDS church activates. It has been the glue that has keep our family close and together.

We have remained local because of my work.
