Cheryl Patterson (Baker) - Class Of 1965

Cheryl Patterson Baker passed away on September 17, 2014 in Tucson, AZ. Cheryl was born on February 15, 1947 in Clearfield, Utah. Graduating at the top of her class, Cheryl took great pride in her studies which she continued as a scholarship student earning an undergraduate degree in education at Utah State University as well as a master's degree at Brigham Young University. It was at BYU that Cheryl met her soul mate with whom she spent the next 37 years. Cheryl had a passion for education, not just her own but also that of her five children. Cheryl worked feverishly to prepare her children to excel in school, and she had the privilege of seeing all five of them graduate from college. Before marrying, and after losing her husband, Cheryl indulged her joy of travel by exploring many countries in both Europe and Africa and was looking forward to a trip to Asia at the time of her death.

Cheryl is survived by her parents, David and Marie Patterson; five siblings, Carol Kelsey, Cindy Adams, David Patterson, Arnold Patterson, and Mary Jane Child; five children, Amy Baker Corner, Amber Harris, Joel Baker, Jonathan Baker, and Mary Baker Brown; and nine grandchildren, Tyson Corner, Tanner Harris, Trei Lewis, Jake Harris, Paytynn Lewis, Jaden Baker, Teagan Harris, Landon Baker and Preston Baker. Cheryl made an impact as an educator, mother, wife, grandmother, sister and friend. She will surely be remembered by all who knew her.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.

I grew up with the twins in Clinton and they were a big part of my life!  I remember Cheryl had the cutest laugh and we shared so many experiences in 4-H, roadshows, MIA.  Her mother, Marie, was our 4-h teacher and my mother, Dorothy Nelson was the roadshow director so we shared the wealth.  Cheryl was a fierce competitor in academics through school and no one could measure up to either Cheryl nor Carol.   We will miss her so!

The twins were older than me, but I certainly admired them.  I don't know that anyone could beat them in academics.  They were great people.

Cheryl, I just keep thinking you are out there somewhere.  I see that your parents (David and Marie) are still alive and must be missing you terribly.  You had so many successes in this life, and I know they will continue in the next.  You will always be that little Clinton girl to me.
