I have over 36 years of experience as a U.S. Department of Justice federal law enforcement criminal investigator and senior supervisory special agent as well as experience as a certified state of Colorado and state of New Mexico police officer.

I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in law enforcement and forensic studies from Weber State College in 1984. Two weeks after graduating from Weber State College, I entered the Lakewood Colorado Police Academy where I worked there as a Police Officer and Crime Scene Investigator from 1984-1986.

I was accepted to and also graduated from the FBI Academy located in Quantico, Virginia in 1986 as a certified and credentialed "Criminal Investigator and Special Agent" for the United States Department of Justice.

As a civilian, I was accepted to and also graduated from the United States Marine Corps University Command and Staff College located in Quantico, Virginia.

As a United States Department of Justice "Fellow," I was selected as the Distinguished Graduate and valedictorian of my graduating class. I also hold a certificate from the Johns Hopkins University for Executive Leadership and Organization, where my graduate level studies were focused on leadership and international studies.

I was also the State Director for the United States Department of Justice-Drug Enforcement Administration in Billings, Montana from 2000-2005.

I also worked as a Senior U.S. Diplomat, Legal Attaché and Senior U.S. Policy Advisor while assigned at the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and the U.S. Consulate General located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

From July 2009 until December 2015, I served as Unit Chief and Acting Assistant and Special Agent in Charge at the DEA Academy in Quantico, Virginia. There, I directed and instructed curriculum and activities of basic agent training for newly hired DEA Special Agents as well as international law enforcement managers and leaders in Undercover Operations, Surveillance Operations, HUMINT Operations, Practical Field Applications, Field Craft, and Field Enforcement Operation programs. I also directed and instructed the above curriculum and activities at five international law enforcement training academies (ILEAS) in the Far East, Central America, South America, Europe, and Africa.

After 30 years of federal service, I retired in good standing and prepared myself for the next chapter of my life.

In 2015, I was selected as the Chief of Law Enforcement and as the Boating Law Administrator for the state of New Mexico's, Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department, State Park Division.

I recently retired from the state of New Mexico and I currently work as an International Police Advisor and International Police Technical Expert for the United States Institute of Peace. The United States Institute of Peace is a conflict resolution "think tank" which works in war torn areas or the world, is headquartered out of Washington DC, and seeks peaceful solutions and reform in the furtherance of democratic policies and public reform.

I have traveled to and worked in 66 countries throughout the world. My present assignment finds me in Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar (Burma) assisting the Myanmar national government with the security aspects of their 2020 National Elections.

It's been a very exciting and fulfilling life so far. I have enjoyed the ride!
